Be an active YA Voice February 16th!

The FLUM Conference will hold a Conference Table on Young Adult Ministries. (definition of Conference Table: a discussion with ANY laity or clergy in FLUMC that want to come about a specifically identified topic. Not to be confused with the ongoing Young Adult Table…lol we should have thought to be more creative with our group name.)

We want you at the Conference Table on Young Adults February 16th at Harvest UMC in Bradenton…Map of 14305 Covenant Way Bradenton, FL 34202-8981, US

Send an e-mail to
youngadult.flumc@yahoo.com if you can attend or if you just have questions…

We will publish a “share a ride” in January so that you don’t have to drive on your own…it’s a green thing!

Welcome! We are glad that you have found us.

We are a group of Florida United Methodist Young Adults. We want to know each other! We want to know what your church or college group is DOING in the area of Young Adult (YA) ministry.

Let us tell you how we started…at the 2007 Florida Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church we had a revolution! We gathered and decided that we want to be active in our church. After Annual Conference we joined forces with the existant Young Adult Committee of the Leadership Connection. Our work as a team is proving to be strong. So many times we feel as if we are not connected with other YA’s in our own local churches, our state conference, and our national church. We want to change this sentiment. This blog is a connectional point for YA’s in Florida.

What we want you to DO…blog your story about Young Adult Ministries here on our site. We will share ours too.

To start…we, the Young Adult Table (YAT) of the Young Persons Network (YPN) have one goal for the year: we are actively seeking grants to send people to receive training on HOW TO DO YA ministry. Check back frequently to see if a grant has been approved…then sign up to go. At these conferences, we want you also to get to know each other so that you can support each other, as we take our training and start ministries.

Be an active YA Voice!
